Farewell to Microsoft Publisher

Microsoft has officially announced that Microsoft Publisher will reach its end of life in October 2026, marking the end of an era for one of its longest-standing desktop publishing tools.

What’s Happening?
From 1 October 2026, Microsoft Publisher will no longer be supported or included in Microsoft 365 subscriptions. Microsoft has confirmed that Publisher will cease functioning entirely for Microsoft 365 users after this date. This is a significant shift from previous retirements, where unsupported apps could still be used without updates.
Why Is Publisher Being Retired?
Microsoft is consolidating its creative tools, and many of Publisher’s features are now available in other apps such as:
- Word – for layout and document design
- PowerPoint – for visual presentations
- Microsoft Designer – for advanced branding and creative work
This move reflects Microsoft’s focus on streamlining its suite and enhancing cross-platform functionality.
What Should You Do?
